Denise Witbooi is a highly accomplished Clinical Research Consultant with over 17 years of experience in the clinical research industry. Her diverse background includes working across site level, Contract Research Organizations (CROs), biotech, and pharmaceutical companies. Throughout her career, she has built a strong foundation in clinical operations, having served in pivotal roles such as Study Coordinator, Clinical Research Associate (CRA), Lead CRA, Local Trial Manager, and Independent Clinical Research Consultant.

Denise has extensive therapeutic area experience and a deep understanding of the end-to-end clinical trial process. Her regional expertise includes successful oversight and execution of clinical trials in South Africa, Kenya, and Uganda, where she has demonstrated exceptional ability to navigate regulatory frameworks, manage multicultural teams, and ensure compliance with global and local guidelines.

She is widely recognized for her leadership, mentoring, and capacity-building skills. Beyond her professional role, Denise is passionate about developing the next generation of clinical researchers. She actively mentors junior CRAs and provides on-the-ground support to research-naïve and developing trial sites, helping them achieve operational readiness and compliance. Her mentorship extends into community work, where she volunteers her time to mentor children aged 6 to 18 through a non-profit organization, reflecting her dedication to service and empowerment.
